Undefeated Old Boys Present JerseysPosted: Friday, 18 May 2012
Undefeated Old Boys Present JerseysPosted: Friday, 18 May 2012On Saturday afternoon as the Knox 1st XV were preparing to face off against Waverley, 12 very special old
boys paid the team a visit. The boys were fortunate enough to have their playing jerseys presented to them by
the members of the 1995 Knox 1st XV, who were CAS Champions and undefeated. Each one of the current
players were called up, congratulated and handed their jersey by former CAS Champion, displaying a great
sense of Knox spirit between new and old.
The old boys shared words of wisdom and experiences from their “glory days” with the 2012 players,
encouraging them to play to the best of their ability on the field.
The members of the 1995 team who were present included, Peter Bromely (now current coach at Knox), Brin
Robinson, Nathan Franks, Andrew Mara, James Hunter, David Walker, Adam Perkins, Jefferson Grainger,
Peter Francis, Tom Linguard, Jamie Bacon and Michael Littlejohn. Old boys, Nick Jolly, James McGeough,
Lachlan Sullivan and Justin Cantello were also part of the premiership winning side in 1995. For Paul
Knight, Coach of the ‘95 side and current member of staff it was exciting to not only see former players
return to the school to support Knox rugby, but also have his own son presented with a jersey.
Overall the experience was a fantastic display of Knox spirit between Old boys and current students, as the
2012 players drew inspiration from previous champions before they ran onto the field.

Old Boys vs School Basketball game on again at Gala DayPosted: Friday, 27 April 2012Don’t miss this fun yet competitive game which has been an annual tradition at Gala Day for decades. The game is on at 10am in the Great Hall - a good opportunity to see this new facility in action. There will be two Old Boy teams, one from the current Old Boys' Club players (from the Wolves, Warriors and Colonels) and another team of recent leavers. They will be playing a mini round robin against the School. If you have been thinking about playing basketball and would like to know more, come to the Great Hall and speak to the players and see how much fun this game can be. Stay fit, have fun and play competitive sport.

Knox Old Boys vs Barker Old Boys Rugby rememberPosted: Friday, 20 April 2012At a moving and emotional ceremony, Old Boy Stan Shaw and Year 10 student Hamish Martyr were remembered with a minute's silence before the game last Saturday. A lone piper played a moving tribute to the memory of these two Knox men. The players wore arm bands and the emotion of the day inspired the teams to strong performances for the season opener.
